Description: Please email with any questions. Two 8 1/2" by 3 3/4" pieces of paper, one off-white and the other pale brown, both dated January 1, 1876, each a price list for bolting cloth from Howes, Babcock & Company in Silver Creek, Chautauqua County, New York. The type of bolting cloth that is described on these little flyers sounds like it is a sturdy fabric used chiefly in serigraphy, embroidery, and as a foundation fabric for wigs. These little price lists are genuine and came from a collection of ephemera from a 19th century hardware business in Macon, Georgia. Both pieces are in very good condition with a few faint horizontal fold lines on each.
