Produced by Petrus Regout & Co. in Mastricht, Holland.An Antique, circa 1890s, large, substantial (7 pound), glazed faience, Hand-Painted Ginger Jar with early DELFT SPHINX and MADE IN HOLLAND markings on base. A very rare and select item for a collector or fan. Sides of Ginger Jar feature four oval, 8” x 7”, white panels containing 2 different designs of vibrant Hand-Painted blue florals (photos #2 & 4).The Lid is 6 3/4" tall x 7" in diameter with 4 white panels containing 2 different hand-painted blue florals, matching those on the body (photos #2 & 4). The blue and white 2 5/8" Tall x 2” Long X 1 1/8” Wide finial is that of a lovely detailed sitting Foo Dog (photos #7, 8, & 9). The backstamp is faded and somewhat unclear possibly due to advanced age (photos # 10 & 11). Dimensions: Height, with lid- 17 1/2 inch. Height, excluding lid- 11 1/2 inch.
