Description: Here is a very nice antique Burke & James Portrait Studio Camera. It's similar to the Ideal and Ingento cameras that I see in vintage Burke & James catalogues but its specs are a little different so I'm not entirely sure which model it is. The bellows are in very good shape. I did see some minor pinhole leaks but they can be repaired as the bellows are large and made of very thick material. The camera is quite large. When I take the ground glass off the opening is approx 12 x 12 so it is the 10x12 format camera but could be adapted to use 8x10. It does not come with a plate holder. It has a very long bellows draw. The front lensboard opening is approx 9x9. The rear movements work. The front rises and falls but is very stiff. It is missing one knob at the rear which locks the extending bed in place but it has the knob on the other side which does the same thing and it works. It's a real workhouse of a camera. It is sold "as-is" so please understand some work will have to be done with the camera before you could use it again but if you wanted it for display just stick a giant brass lens on it and its good to go. Buyer pays shipping and the shipping quote includes insurance. I believe it is to large to ship overseas. Free local pickup is also available. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
