The 2240 XL has a Steel Breech that features the "hidden breech screw" design, which means the breech screw is located underneath the bolt probe. This prevents the pellet from getting stuck on the hole for the screw as it is guided into the barrel when the bolt is closed. In addition to the 2240 XL, this breech is compatible with certain Crosman models: 2240, 2250 and 2260 and some 2300 / 2400 models. *Important Notice*: This breech is NOT compatible with Crosman 13XX models as it does not line up with the hole for the breech screw in the air tube.
