Dalek's Space Monkey was conceived in 1995, incorporating his love of pop culture, the punk scene and cartoons, amalgamated to form this “grinning and malevolent” version of a human being which exists in a pop world of clashing hues. "The Space Monkeys are representations of the human condition, sometimes the human themselves and sometimes the things going on around them". – Dalek 2019 In 2001 Dalek began his apprenticeship with renowned Japanese artist Takashi Murakami, and by 2007 his paintings developed more layers, becoming deeper and more complex, while his trademark Space Monkeys became less prominent visually in his artwork. Dalek's work has been praised and featured in numerous publications, articles and magazines, such as The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. He has also had many solo and group shows all over the US, Japan and Europe.
