The leaves and pods have been used since ancient times and remains an important treatment in both traditional and conventional medicine. Senna tea is also used for weight loss. For making tea: The daily recommended dosage is 15-30 mg. Avoid consuming the tea for prolonged periods. To prepare, steep 1-2 grams of dried senna leaves in hot water for a maximum of 10 minutes. Strain the mixture into a cup and sweeten to taste. Limit consumption to no more than twice a day.
