Description: Offered for your consideration is one (1) DYNAUDIO D-28/2 S (81445) 28 mm (1⅛ inch) dome tweeter removed from my DYNAUDIO Audience C120+ center channel speaker, manufactured in Denmark c.1999. As I’m sure you know, DYNAUDIO is one of Europe’s most respected speaker companies, in addition to supplying raw drivers to other high-end brands such as Sonus Faber, Thiel, et al. I believe this tweeter is also correct for the DYNAUDIO LR 120+ and likely other speakers in the period Audience series. In any event, buyer is wholly responsible for ascertaining its suitability for any speaker other than the Audience C120+. So, please take a look at my large photos, the measurements, and read the remaining description to decide if this coveted DYNAUDIO dome tweeter should be yours. This DYNAUDIO D-28/2 S tweeter is in clean, very good condition. The radiating surface has several dimples, but they are purely cosmetic; the sound is not affected. Otherwise, the black metal faceplate has no scratches, scuffs, or dings. Plus, there’s no oxidation on the sizeable shielded magnet structure. Also, the +/- input terminals measure ¼”, are marked for polarity on the plate, and have never been soldered on the spades. If it weren’t for the depressions on the dome, this tweeter would be in excellent overall shape. Most importantly, it’s been fully tested and sounds amazing as you’d expect from DYNAUDIO. It’s very strong and clear with excellent imaging and sparkly upper frequency detail peaking at a conservative 22kHz. Plus, I tested its DC resistance at 5.5Ω, consistent with a nominal 6 ohm driver rating. Lastly, the faceplate measures 4⅜” diameter, it stands 2” tall (not incl. dome), and the three mount holes are equally spaced at 3 7/16” c-t-c So, if you have a blown tweeter in your Audience C120+ or other suitable DYNAUDIO speaker, you’ve found the right listing—your speakers will be sounding their finest once again!
