Description: A fifteen inch long handmade folk art topsy turvy doll with two sides as is typical of these dolls: one side depicts a white girl doll while the other side depicts an African American girl doll. The clothing is particularly nice. The blonde doll wears a dress and bonnet in a rosebud print with lacy edging to her sleeves, neckline and edges of her bonnet. She has red ribbons in her hair and around her waist. Her arms have dampness stains. The skirt of her dress has some light browning which is pretty subtle. The African American doll has a red plaid dress and bonnet, a white apron, and lacy edging on her sleeves, bonnet and neckline. Both doll heads have hand stitched facial features. My rough guesstimate of when this doll was made is in the second quarter of the 20th century. Condition overall is quite nice. The inventory number for this item is 11,204.
