All 1950's marks. **************************************************** An Absolutely Wonderful Pattern. The Apple Pattern was introduced and produced in California, USA. It is a beautiful hand painted earthenware pattern with the apple design reflecting the beauty of California’s apple orchards. This is a pattern that can be used year-round. It is one of the most popular collectible pottery patterns.Franciscan Pottery patterns were originally designed and produced by Gladding McBean (Franciscan) Pottery of California and produced in California until about 1984. Franciscan Pottery Patterns were produced in California and were all Hand Painted for over 40 years until 1984. True Collectors only collect the vintage American-made pieces and will not accept any new items made in England or China after 1984 as the quality of the old is far superior to that of the new. The older pieces are painted entirely by hand, while the newer pieces are decorated with a decal making the older pieces much more charming. The subtle differences in colors and brush strokes create a warm feeling that is lacking in the cookie cutter decal decorated pieces made in England and China.
