Description: This one offers a Gilbert American Flyer HO gauge # 30520 'The Challenger' freight set in the original set box from 1959-60. Included in the set is a 443 NYC 4-8-4 Challenger locomotive/tender. The engine ran in both directions when tested and produced smoke. I would suggest servicing this engine if you are going to put it into operation as it has sat idle for a number of years. There is a 33512 New Haven boxcar, a 33509 Western Maryland flatcar w/Riss trailer load, a 33500 Gulf tank car, and a 33516 New York Central illuminated caboose. All steps and couplers are present on all cars. There are 11 pieces of curved track, a re-railer straight track section, and a power terminal equipped piece of straight track. The flexible cardboard overlay is present, a partial M-4982 warning sheet to only operate the train on DC power, the graphical pop-up display piece depicting the set and a 32663 AC/DC transformer. The set box has masking tape on it, and one end of the box lid has been repaired with staples and cardboard reinforcements. The opposite end is missing the end flap (please see pictures). Please note that I don't usually use eBay's shipping calculator as it can vary from reality wildly. This is a long shipping box (50" x 12" x 12") due to the length of the set box and I need to use their calculator on this one. If shipping comes in under what eBay calculates, I will refund the difference. If it comes in over what eBay calculates, I will cover the difference.
