Description: A deep blue and white lobed Japanese bowl with much hand work and marked with a Chinese Ming reign mark on the base. The bowl lobed and alternating panels are painted with designs of fruit and wisteria. The painting is very fine with good line quality and perfection. The central well design is a stylized floral pattern. The back is also painted with a scrolling floral design. The bowl has a shallow unglazed, rounded foot. The base center has a four-character Chinese mark for the Chenghua Ming emperor. MEASUREMENTS 6” (15.2 cm) diameter x 2 1/8” (5.4 cm) tall. Weighs 15.4 oz (435 g) CONDITION There are no cracks, chips, breaks, or repairs. The glaze has a very soft, worn feel.
