Description: *PAIR* of Hancock & Moore hand sculpted Mahogany & Green Damask Rococo Style Chairs. Beautifully made pair of tub chairs by Hancock & Moore, who made their reputation crafting high-end leather upholstered furniture. They later branched out and made other upholstered pieces in the same traditional styles, including these French Bergeres in the manner of Louis XV . A solid hardwood frame, finished in a glossy red mahogany color, with hand details at the crest, skirt and knees.Upholstered in a jade green damask pattern over a moire background. In exceptional condition. Hand sculpted and crafted frames, they are mint, with no wear, damage or repairs. Structurally perfect. The color of the frame is even on all sides. The original set of four sat around a round table, over which hung a chandelier. The chairs’ fabric does have some very minor and overall consistent light fading from the top, which shows only on the inside back and seat cushion top. The fabric is solid, with no apparent wear or weak areas. They were primarily for show, and don’t appear to have been used. The "Balfour" model is still available to purchase new - the starting price is appx. $4300 per chair. Dimension: 40” tall. 30.5” at the widest point of the back. 29” wide at the outside front of the arms. Overall depth is appx. 33". The arm height is 27". The seat cushion is 22” deep, 24” wide at the front and appx. 20.5” high. If you plan on reupholstering the chairs, they would each take appx. 7 yards of fabric.
