Description: Quimper faience is produced in a factory near Quimoer in Brittany, France. Since 1708 through now, Quimper faience has been hand-painted by hand. The oldest manufacturer of Quimper Faience is the Grande Maison HB-Henriot. The pottery's design reflects a traditional Brittany influence. This typical designis the "petit breton", a naive representation of Breton man and/or woman in traditional Breton costume. The "petit breton" became popular around 1870 and is still today the main design bought by tourists. This creamer features the Breton woman holding a bouquet of flowers. Body shape is a modified octagon, with angular handle and spout. The base is marked as follows: "RT.F.303.D.301" over the blue Henriot Quimper hand-painted hallmark and "Henriot Quimper France". The background field is white (versus the yellow or cream options). Condition: Excellent giftable condition. No crazing or discoloration. Paint intact without erosion. No chips, flakes, breaks, mends, repairs, cracks, hairlines, blemishes, or mentionable boo-boo's. Don't feel anything amiss when I run finger around edges. Surface scuff marks on base commiserate with age and use. Dimensions: 4.5" Tall x 3.25” Wide x 4.5” from spout tip to handle. Unpacked weight: 9 oz.
