Description: Rare Antiques Westinghouse foot-candle meter in original leather case from 1920. What a wonderful piece of history from the Commercial Engineering Department of Westinghouse Lamp Company, Franklin Incandescent Lamp Works, Bloomfield, New Jersey. The calibration certificate attached inside the lid is dated 6-23-20, which is 1920. I wonder if the man that did the calibration tests had any idea this item would still be around a century later. I also have the original leather carrying case. Both devise and case are in very good condition, considering their age and use. I don't know how to test this, but i am happy to try if you have some suggestions for me. My Father purchased this in the 1960's for use in several of his personal projects and experiments. I'm sure that it worked back then or he would not have kept it. He was a physicist with a wide range of interests. I was too young to be involved with what ever he used this for but have been lucky enough to help many of his other projects. Leather case is: 10" x 8" x 2".
