Description: Overview: Up for sale is an incredible mixed media sculpture by listed Laguna Beach California artist, Shelley Rapp Evans. Evans is well-known for her three-dimensional sculptures, blending various cultures and often evoking horror, spiritualism and the supernatural to create spooky and intriguing pieces. This figure is entitled "A Bird In the Hand," and was one of Evans' "Figuratively Speaking" series of sculptures. It is an incredible piece, encased in a lucite box. I have seen this particular sculpture offered at auction in the past, but haven't found an artist attributed to the piece. The sculpture is cast bronze with a hybrid bronze and resin base. I love the motion and artistry of the piece. The original piece included a square for the backboard, but that has broken off and is missing. Likely dates to the 1960's. It weighs about 10 pounds. Measurements: Approximately 40.5 inches tall x 10.375 inches wide x 4.75 inches deep. Weighs approximately 10 pounds. Condition: Excellent, like new condition.
