YOU BUY THEM, YOU OWN THEM!!!*** This listing is for a set of FOUR (4) used original equipment 14" wire spoke wheel covers (stock #SO4-6466-B) with chrome 3-bar spinner ornaments that were kept as spares for my former neighbors 1965 Chevy Impala. This style was originally offered on the 14" STANDARD STEEL wheels of the 1964-1966 Chevy Impala, Bel Air, Chevelle, Nova, Biscayne and numerous other Chevy models equipped with the 14" standard steel wheels. They can also be used on most other GM 14" steel wheels of the same era, but the vehicle must be RWD in order for them to fit properly. I acquired this set from a former neighbor that kept these as "spares" for his pale yellow 1965 Chevy Impala. As I recall, I was still at the age that I was riding my bike when I finally talked my neighbor into giving me these caps (along with the set that he had on the car). This set was stored in the trunk of the vehicle at all times for reasons unknown. I remember when he agreed to give me the set that was on the car, he then opened the trunk and said "ya may as well take my spares, too!" I cleaned them way back when I got them, but they haven't been cleaned since. I have intentionally left them in their uncleaned, unpolished condition so that you can see them at their worst. I do NOT want to oversell these as they are highly sought after and hard to find. I would much prefer that the new owner cleans them up and is happy with their purchase than to attempt to make them look nicer than they are. The caps included in this set have the ornaments mounted in an unconventional way. There is a single bolt holding the spinners on each cap. This means that someone at some time long ago drilled through the center emblem of the chrome plated spinners to mount them onto the wheel covers. I don't know or understand why anyone would do this, but it was done nonetheless. I have attempted to show the bolts as they are from both the front and back sides in the photos (LQQK CLOSELY). This unorthodox method does detract from the appearance a bit, but at the same time, isn't abundantly obvious if you aren't looking for it. Not the way I would have gone about it, but to each his own!!! It was approx. 2001 when I obtained these caps. They have been sitting in my basement ever since then collecting dust. In addition to the bolts through the spinners and being dirty, there are areas that show pitting on the chrome spinner ornaments, some paint loss on the backing plates, dings on the outer edges, scratches/scuffs from brushes with curbs and various other cosmetic flaws from back when they were still being used. The retaining bands/clips are all in place on the back side, but there is some surface oxidation present as seen in photos. It is NOT structural, and the caps snap on as they should. Any and all of the areas of concern or areas with notable flaws are shown in the individual photos provided. PLEASE BE SURE TO SEE THEM ALL. These are CLIP-ON style caps that do NOT require locking hardware to install them correctly. They simply bang onto the wheel and are held in place by clips on the back sides. All of the clips are in place and strong. Please see all photos provided as this is the EXACT set you will receive!!! I have the other set listed separately. Again, any areas of concern are highlighted in the close-up photos provided. LQQK CLOSELY!!! This set is not perfect or new, but all four caps are original, and fully functional. They should make a good starter set for a daily driver or potential restoration candidates if perfection is required. They will serve their purpose, but please do not expect perfection, or you will be disappointed!!!
