Description: For sale are 5 Proto TAC 13/16” flare nut split sockets. I have not encountered sockets like this before, so please bare with me as I try to give you a measurement of their size. They each measure approximately 1-3/8” tall, 1-1/8” across the base on the wider end, 3/4” across on the smaller end. PLEASE READ for each quantity purchased you will receive one bag containing five - 13/16” TAC flare nut split sockets, just like the ones in the picture. These have been sitting on an open shelf for the last 50+ years, so between the Cosmoline (A baked on military grease used to keep things from rusting) and the dirt/dust, these are very dirty. They have not been used, just are very dirty. These were military issued and mostly likely came from a military supply depot in Ohio. Some of these are chromed, and some of them have a black finish… That may just be the Cosmoline and they need to be clean. A portion of these do have some light rust, but all of them should clean up fairly well. You can purchase solvents at any auto parts store that will effectively dissolve this grease). what you will receive will be still covered in dirt and cosmoline. I am making the general assumption that all both sockets are Proto TAC, but since the military did use different suppliers there is a chance that it could be from a different company. Any other company would still be a high grade, high-quality, source for these sockets and the sockets would be the same size. These originally came from the Rossford ordinance depot, which was located in Toledo Ohio and was one of the largest supply depot’s in the country. These were found in a third-generation surplus store They have been forgotten about for over 40 years, and are in solid overall condition, just very dirty. There may be some very light rust, that would clean up with a little steel wool and oil. Since I have more than one of these available, while you may not receive the exact picture, you will receive one in equal or better condition. Shipping for this item will be $3.45 to the lower 48.
