F.A.Q - Vacuflo offers two styles of switched central vacuum hoses for use w/ different wall inlet valves.The first is used with the proprietary VACUFLO-STYLE automatic inlet valve; this style inlet valve usually activates the vacuum system as soon as you lift the little valve door open, regardless if the hose is inserted or not. It also usually has 4 screws securing it to the wall. The TurboGrip hose used w/ this type of wall valve will have two metal prongs on the hose end (the end that inserts into the wall valve) that will insert into two small openings just above the large opening on the wall valve... The second type is used with UNIVERSAL-STYLE inlet valves. Universal inlet valves come in many shapes and sizes and used by many different central vacuum manufacturers (including Vacuflo). They all have two small metal electrical contacts INSIDE the round opening (on the wall valve) that you insert your hose into. These metal contacts are usually spaces 2-4 hours apart. The TurboGrip hose used w/ this type of wall inlet valve will have two semi-circular bands on the hose end (the end that inserts into the wall valve) that will make an electrical connection with the two small metal contacts inside the opening...
