Description: I’m very excited to offer this incredible, restored Mission Style/Arts & Crafts style Art Nouveau chandelier. This fixture, dating to approximately 1910, is in fantastic vintage condition with a nice, subtly bright patina that brass can only acquire through decades of oxidation. I have not polished the piece as to preserve the time-acquired color, but it did get a thorough cleaning. There are some minor surface irregularities and blemishes, but this can be expected from any fixture of this era. The shades, featuring an unusual arts and crafts, nouveau motif, are a nice complement to the fixture itself, and light nicely. A fixture like this is special, as it is representative of a style trend in lighting that was popular for only a very brief window, very simplistic in form - an about face from the much more ornate lighting fixtures of decades previous. Lights like these were often tossed in early home renovations and are not easy to come by in good condition anymore. The sockets are original, while the wiring and mounting hardware are all new, with the rest of the fixture being remarkably original. The scale of this light makes it ideal for a medium sized room, measuring at about 17 inches wide measured from shade to shade, and about 28 inches long. I am unable to make length adjustments to this fixture without compromising the integrity and finish of the distinctive, heavy gauge original chain. It should be noted that the canopy should amply cover most modern junction boxes - an important consideration when thinking of installing vintage lighting. I picture this in a sitting room, foyer, a hallway, over a stairhall landing/common space, or perhaps in a larger bedroom. This is quite a versatile light fixture that would work in just about any space. The sale includes all the necessary mounting hardware, light bulbs are not included. Shipped UPS Ground.
