Description: Vintage E. KERN Spongeware PEAFOWL Plate Staffordshire REVIVALIST Folk Art PA #2 It is a very folksy and colorful plate- one of a kind! This Antique TYPE Painted Plate is an example of the type of Revivalist work that was being done in Pennsylvania in the 1940s-50s. This one is un-signed but was purchased with 2 other plates by Evelyn Kern who did wonderful work in the Lancaster County area of PA. There were some ladies who started to copy old designs on their plates that were much more affordable than the actual Antique Staffordshire Plates that were exported from England and used in the US. It measures approx 5.75" in diameter. These revivalist plates and other ceramic items are also getting very hard to find. We found 3 of these type of plates recently and thought they were so nice and folksy. Please see all of our auctions for 2 other similar plates and a lot of Antique Plates that are period. They can be combined for discount shipping. Thanks for looking!
