Description: Vintage decorative rug from the 50s or 60s created by P & C of Italy and distributed by Ramallah Trading Co of New York. It is stamped with Made In Italy on the back. The rug is tapestry style and is made of crushed velvet and features a Rococo / Romantic period scene of 6 people dressed up in a garden. One of the women appears to be playing music for two children to dance to while 3 other people watch.The scene has a cute border and bright colors, with some of the gold and red velvet fabric having a metallic shine to it. The rug measures 39 inches across without including the tassels - the tassels are about 3 inches on each side. It is about 21.5 inches tall. The rug no longer has the P & C tag, and it has damage in one corner from where the tag was forcibly removed (Pictured in image 7). I believe this damage could be reparable but did not want to attempt it myself as I don't have the experience. Besides this, there is some yellowing in a line across the fabric due to improper storage. I do not know if it is removable. It is not hugely noticeable, and is mostly seen in the music player's skirt. This rug is very unique and I have not seen many others in the Rococo style art from this company. A wonderful piece to add to a collection or display. I would recommend hanging it as a tapestry rather than using as a rug to prevent wear or damage. Kept in a smoke free and pet free home.
